Original, unmolested 1966 Karmann Ghia. I bought this 3 years ago. I believe I’m the second owner. Maintenance documentation starting in 1968, and into 1994 included. Vehicle in near all original condition. Radio still works. Previous owner had Ghia repainted at Maaco in 1987(receipt included). Previous owner also installed black wheels (they are also included, pic shown). When I purchased, I put stock style wheels and caps correct fora ‘66(bought from JBugs), and added luggage rack on trunk lid, as well as side mirrors. Ghia starts, drives, and stops nicely. Paint looks nice from 10 feet away, but shows its age. Ghia is a good driver quality, and I tried to keep it as such. They’re only stock from VW once. Very nice Ghia to enjoy as is, or great candidate for restoration.
What’s it need? Well, one of the front turn signals, and the horn doesn’t work currently. I never had the time to investigate. All other exterior lights including brakes work great. Driver’s door latch striker also needs rebuilt, rebuild kit is included (see pic).
‘66s are rare as they have the chrome dash trim. All pieces are there, and on the dash, but have discolored over the years. Fresh paint is all that’s needed on them. Seats, and interior is original as well, but do have a few stains, etc. like I said, they’re only as they were from the factory once, and I tried to keep it that way.
