This is a genuine DS21 Pallas finished as original in arguably the most attractive colour scheme for this model: Palladium grey with a contrasting black roof . The car was imported into the US in 1997.
With the greatest importance on reliability, overhauled the ignition, charging and fuel supply systems with an uprated 70A alternator, 123 electronic ignition and Bosch coil and a Facet fuel pump. Serviced annually, DS never let me down once.
Body
This is a rust free car with outstanding paintwork in the original color scheme.
When we obtained the car it had some minor marks and scuffs on most panels commensurate with an older painting. The decision was made to repaint the car, taking the opportunity to replace the main roof seals.
The finish is superb with no orange peel and high luster finish throughout. The glass is undamaged, all rubber seals are supple and the bumpers are dent free. All the intricate Pallas stainless trim is equally good, and this Citroen makes the strongest impression.
The chassis of this DS is excellent, with factory undercoating throughout.
Mechanics
It’s no surprise this car is mechanically excellent and performs superbly. The engine starts immediately and is very quiet, with no smoke or untoward noises. The transmission and clutch are perfect and the car drives spot-on, with a sumptuous ride. The hydraulics all operate beautifully and appear leak free.
The under bonnet is nicely detailed with factory finishes throughout, a new bonnet pad is fitted and a full compliment of tools accompany the car. New Michelin tires have just been fitted.
Interior
This is another feature of the car, with the desirable early dashboard arrangement, all in quite delightful original condition with beautifully preserved tobacco colored leather showing good patina.
The carpets have been replaced in the past with proper Pallas specification material and the door handles are also recent replacements.
Inertia reel seat belts are fitted front and back.
Supplied with an original owner’s manual.
