Vintage, partially restored and rare single axle 1964 19' Airstream Globetrotter. This Airstream has spent its entire life in a barn, so it has avoided a lot of the damage that many sustain from sitting outside in fields or lots.
The Globetrotter model is known for its small, Bambi like size, but with 3 feet of extra space. It is distinguished from the Bambi and Bambi II by its very large and spacious rear bathroom and large kitchen with a front and side futon.
With a total length of only 19 feet, this Airstream would be great for camping in national parks as it is below the length requirements. Due to its very light weight of under 3,450 pounds, practically any vehicle with a towing package can pull it comfortably.
The exterior aluminum on this Airstream has its original factory patina. It was the last year that Airstreams didn't feature the annoying clear coat that would flake off. The aluminum has some scuffing which could be removed with polish but otherwise looks awesome. There are only minor scuffs and dings. The refrigerator vent cover broke and flew off during transport (see outside trailer above left of door). A replacement can be ordered on Vintage Trailer Supply.
Overall, the body and underbelly are both in great shape. The rear aluminum underbelly is excellent and the frame is solid throughout with no rear sagging. Two side windows and the front window were replaced with plexiglass to ensure durability.
Onboard, there is a large futon style bed along the side. The original cushion is included, but will need to a new cushion and to be reupholstered due to damage from field mice during storage. The trailer had not moved since the late 70s when it was recovered earlier this year. The trailer also features a front futon with storage underneath. The frame for this couch was removed during the restoration process but could be easily reinstalled. This cushion could be cleaned but reupholstery would make a big difference.
The kitchen features a small sink, as well as a 4 top stove, which does include all original parts (removed by the previous owner during an attempted restoration). We were told that the original gas lines are intact with no leaks, and that the original fridge worked off of propane. The unit does also feature an original Atwood propane powered water heater. However we have not tested the propane systems due to the age of the unit.
The previous owner began a restoration, replacing the old tile with a nice vinyl wood floor. It looks great overall, but does have a small soft spot in the rear (along the edge of the toilet). The wood cabinetry throughout is in excellent original condition for the year. Door doesn't lock (will need lock adjusted and a new lock cylinder/keys).
