1973 Datsun 240z, running and driving, in overall decent shape, ready to be taken to the next level and perfected.
This car was originally orange, and I believe it still has the original paint with a few touch up areas. The interior is mostly complete, with factory console and dash and gauges, that is in overall decent shape but the seats would need to be reupholstered, the dash is in decent shape for the age but does have cracks. The only gauges that currently work are the oil pressure gauge and amp gauge, the other gauges will need to be hooked up or the sending units replaced, the heater box will also need to be hooked up as it is currently closed off. The body is in decent shape for its age, with an overall good frame that is straight and not damaged, there is one rust spot near the front tow hook (pictured), other than that it is nice. The rear hatch area of the car is in excellent shape, the spare tire well is extremely solid as well as the toolbox area. The battery tray is also very solid, this is a common rust spot for these cars that is rarely left untouched. The overall exterior is good, the main rust spots are the driver side dogleg, rear hatch plate, and rear corners , please refer to the pictures of these areas. The floor pans will need to be patched or replaced as there are rust spots near the front toe boards and rear but we have floor pans available for sale. The engine starts fine and runs good, Numbers matching original L24 block with E88 head, the car drives and shifts fine. The windshield is not installed but included, it does have cracks but it could be used until full restoration begins. We have replaced and serviced a lot of the drivetrain on this car to bring it back to life, making the mechanical section our main focus. Also included in the sale are 2 very solid doors if the owner would like to replace the current ones.
Here are the parts we have installed new:
Gear oil replaced
New clutch master cylinder
New clutch slave cylinder
New clutch hard line and hose
New brake power booster
New brake master cylinder
New ignition coil
New plugs and wires
New distributor points, cap and rotor
New fuel pump
New starter
New water pump
New rubber fuel lines
New vapor lines
Tank flushed and cleaned
New ignition switch
Combo switch rebuilt
Overall this is a good driver quality project 240 that needs more work to be fully done but has a large portion of the hard work taken care of and would be a great starting point for an enthusiast wanting to get an affordable 240z.
