If you are looking for a unique vehicle to add to your collection, there probably is nothing more special than this over the top restored and fully functional 1955 Ford Mainline, right-hand drive, Utility Coupe from Australia.
This 1955 Mainline Ute has been fully done with no expense spared to pristine condition...gorgeous chrome, cream tinted white paint on a spectacular arrow straight body, beautiful interior, suspension, brakes, electrical, trim, powder coated suspension/fender wells, radial tires & more. Custom dual exhaust with a nice mellow tone delivered by V8’s of the era. Drives like a new car; and was authentically re-done with great detail down to the Ford script mirrors!
Everything on this car works, great! The detail down to inspection stamps for true authenticity is amazing. It is the true poverty edition, no radio, clock and frills of any sort. The car is free from rust; the interior looks better than the day it drove off the line; and the wood in the bed is free of any rot and stained to perfection. The car comes with the original, rebuilt, very smooth, 272 'Y' block V8, and 3-speed manual on the column!
This limited production car comes with a blanket, literature, 2 sets of Ford keys, and leather dingo hat. It has a genuine North Territory Australian Outback License plate.
The Australian Ford shares a lot of similarities to the 1955 Ford, but was manufactured in Canada for export only. Mainline Utes were mounted on a North American Sunliner chassis from 1955 to 1959. Repair parts are easy to get, as they are 55 Ford. The rear body section only was unique to Australia; the front half & suspension was the exact same as the US models. Also new for the 1955’s were the ball joint front ends, manual on the column, and 3 bolt Holley carb. They remained 6 volt. The rear end was 55 Ford station wagon for the heavier brakes and larger splined axles.
Take the time to look at this beautiful Aussie mobile, because you will not find one as exceptional as this!!! Great for business advertising as its unusual design and stunning restoration draws the looks from everyone, you can count on that. It could also be a great tow vehicle (it has a hitch and step plate)…just pull up at the flats, the drags or a vintage event with your car pulled by this one...guarantee another will not pull up next to you!
